A website copy with HTTrack
What is energy? The Kid's corner. November 2002
project name: electricityWeb(URL) address: http://firstenergy.apogee.net/kids/
tick: Attempt to detect all links
do not tick: DOS names or ISO9660 names
amount of time: 16 minutes (56k modem)
problem:
Java appletOther examples with similar difficulties: Adventure City | Herberton
solution:
No problem with this site, except in Electric Fun !- The wordsearch shows a grey window instead of the grid.
If you edit the HTML page (firstenergy.apogee.net/kids/elecfun/wrdsearch/wdsrch.htm) you can see that the game uses a Java applet:
<applet code="WordSearch.class" width=425 height=350> <param name="gridcolors" value="black,white,#ffffcc,yellow"> <param name="listcolors" value="#660000,#ffffcc,#666666"> <param name="files" value="power.txt,electricity.txt,energy.txt,history.txt"> </applet>
WinHTTrack 3.22 looks for a single file named power.txt,electricity.txt,energy.txt,history.txt, and only downloads WordSearch.class.
To fix the problem, visit the page with Internet Explorer and wait until the page is completely loaded.
In the cache (Temporary Internet Files) you should find:
Copy the .txt and .class files in the folder wrdsearch of the local site and then delete [1] in the file names.
- In Coloring projects, the page coloring book (firstenergy.apogee.net/kids/elecfun/color/Color.html) shows a grey window.
To fix the problem, visit the page with Internet Explorer and wait until the page is completely loaded.
In the cache (Temporary Internet Files) you should find:
Copy the .gif and .class files in the folder color of the local site and then delete [1] in the file names.
Everything should work now.
